Owner, Dance and Fitness Instructor, Company Director
Miss Afton is the proud owner of Fusion Dance & Performing Arts, established in 1999 (formally Attitudes Dance by Aimee). She is also the director of the Innovative Soul Dance Company, and a coach for the Waterloo West High School Dance Team. Afton has 28 years of dance training and competitive dance experience. While attending college at the University of Iowa, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, and was a four-year member (and Senior captain) of the nationally ranked Iowa Dance Team. Throughout her career, she has worked as an instructor for the Universal Dance Association, as well as teaching locally. She has coached area high school teams, has spent 11 years choreographing for dance teams, and 13+ years choreographing for soloists across the state of Iowa. In 2011, prior to returning to the Cedar Valley to take over her dream dance studio, she was working as a professional dancer for the Denver Nuggets NBA team, and as a fitness instructor in the Denver Metro area. When she isn’t dancing, Miss Afton loves spending time with her husband and 2 young kids. She is thrilled to share her passion for dance and appreciation for the arts with the students and families of Fusion DPA!
Office Manager, Dance and Fitness Instructor, Company Co-Director
Brianne Anderson has been a dancer in the Cedar Valley since she was 4. Her career began at Kim Ebetino’s in downtown Waterloo, then Attitudes Dance by Aimee from its’ grand opening in 1999. Brianne’s dance opportunities took her to several places, including New Orleans, LA with Skip Costa, New York City, NY to Broadway Dance Center & private lessons with ballet master Finis Jung, as well as to Duluth, MN with the Minnesota Ballet. She also participated in many variations of the Nutcracker Ballet with companies including Ballet International, Minnesota Ballet, and Attitudes Dance by Aimee. After attaining board education & board certification in Radiology, CT, and a bachelor’s in Leadership from the University of St. Francis, the opportunity to teach dance & help encourage others to find their dancing passion as Office Manager with Miss Afton was a dream come true. You can also find Miss Brianne teaching a variety of fitness classes throughout the season, as well as assisting with the Innovative Soul Competition Team.
Dance and Fitness Instructor, Company Co-Director
Miss Debra grew up in Kansas and began dancing at the age of three. She has trained in all styles of dance. Debra continued with dance in college and attained a BFA in Dance from Wichita State University. While at WSU she was a member of the Wichita State University Dance Ensemble. She served as vice president of the Mid-American Dance Theatre that helped students produce independent dance concerts. In addition, she was part of Wichita’s traveling company the Wichita Contemporary Dance Theatre. Debra has danced with several professional and semi-professional dance companies, and has also performed in several productions of the Nutcracker, including a principle role. In 2004 Debra danced with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, which is an outlet for diverse professional dancers proficient in multiple disciplines. From 2005-2007 she was a member of an independent dance collective that performed throughout the Cedar Valley. During her more than 30 years of dance experience, she has completed dance intensives with David Parsons, Denise Veil, Robert Battle, Gus Giordano, Dianne Walker, and many others. Debra has been teaching and choreographing for more than 20 years working with more than seven studios across the Mid-west and Texas. She has also choreographed musicals and pieces for universities, high schools, community theatres, and dance competitions. She choreographed “Kiss Me Kate”, “The Music Man” and “White Christmas” for CFCT and “Pal Joey” for Wartburg College. She also served as the coach for the Waterloo West Dance Team from 2013-2016. Debra is also a Co-director for Fusion’s competitive dance team Innovative Soul. She is thrilled to continue sharing her passion for dance with the students of Fusion Dance and Performing Arts.
Miss Maria has been dancing since childhood. She studied dance at Kim Ebitino’s Dance Studio and then Attitudes Dance by Aimee, where she performed in annual performances. In addition, she was a member of the Andante Performing Company, under the direction of Aimee Jennings. Miss Maria was able to perform 2 roles with the Moscow Ballet in The Great Russian Nutcracker, in 2002. During high school, she traveled every summer to train with many prestigious dance companies across the country. She received multiple scholarships and attended multiple Intensives at The Joffrey Ballet School, the American Academy of Ballet, the Southeast Dance Festival, and the Broadway Dance Center, where she accepted into the Intern Affiliate Program. Miss Maria was a dance instructor at Attitudes Dance by Aimee for 10 years before it became Fusion Dance & Fitness. She has produced a variety of choreography including solo and group pieces for her Church’s Celebrations, Andante Company Choreography, and State Solo competition pieces.
Miss Hannah is from Cedar Falls, Iowa and currently attends the University of Northern Iowa studying Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has been dancing since age three and worked as an Assistant Instructor during high school. She also competed with the Cedar Falls Dance Team for four years, serving as Captain her senior year. She is excited to continue teaching Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, and Lyrical at Fusion with all the wonderful kiddos and staff!
Miss Harley is from Hudson, IA and is currently enrolled in Kirkwood’s Veterinary Technician program. She started her dancing career when she was just three years old at Attitudes Dance by Aimee/Fusion Dance & Fitness, and has been active in a variety of dance styles ever since. She spent a lot of time in classes and working as an assistant Instructor for many years. Harley is anxious to return to Fusion and share her love for dance with the kiddos at Fusion.
Casey grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and is currently attending the University of Northern Iowa. She has been dancing since the age of three, and is trained in many different styles. She was on the Cedar Falls High School dance team for all four of her high school years, and also competed on a team and as a soloist for a studio in Iowa. Following her high school graduation, she continued dancing, as well as taught various styles of dance to students in Coralville, Iowa. Casey is excited to be teaching at Fusion Dance & Performing Arts and sharing her love of dance with all of her students!
Dance, Tumble and Baton Instructor
Miss Katy comes to our studio with many years of dance and baton twirling expertise. She began dancing at age 4 and twirling at age 10. She has competed on the local, state and national level receiving many awards. The highest honor was being selected as the Feature Baton Twirler for the UNI Panther Marching Band. She is a graduate of UNI with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and is employed by Byrnes & Rupkey Inc. in Waterloo, IA. She is a native of Davenport, IA where she was a member of the Central Marching Band Color Guard, TNT Dynamite Baton and Pom Team, Varsity Cheerleading Team and many other extracurricular activities. She has been an instructor for 10+ years. Katy also offers pageantry prep for pageant contestants of all ages.

Miranda Koch grew up in Cedar Rapids and began teaching at MOvMNT Dance Company, where she danced growing up and found her love for dance. She moved to Cedar Falls to attend the University of Northern Iowa and major in Public Relations. While attending college, she commuted back to Cedar Rapids to teach for Prestige Dance Studio. She taught various Hip Hop classes for all ages and choreographed for the competition teams. Currently, Miranda works for Amy Wienands Real Estate as a Listing Coordinator. In her free time, she loves to attend concerts and scrapbook! Miranda is excited to join our team this year and will be teaching our Hip Hop Competition Teams and Adult Hip Hop!
Courtney has been part of the dance community for decades, starting with Kim Ebetino at age 3 and transitioning to Attitudes Dance by Aimee by age 8. During her dance career, she participated in many productions, including Fantasia and multiple adaptations of The Nutcracker. While maintaining her love for dance, you are now going to find her teaching fitness classes & assisting in the office answering any questions you may have about the Fusion Family! Aside from dance, she went to UNI to attain a BA in Education and is currently working on her MA in Organizational Leadership and will graduate in December.
